Her pediatric dental residency was completed at the prestigious Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where she gained extensive training in treating children with special health care needs, sedation dentistry, trauma, and interceptive orthodontics.
Inspired by her own challenges nursing a child with posterior tongue tie, Dr. Kapoor became a pioneer in laser dentistry. She has practiced laser dentistry since 2017, receiving one-on-one training from leaders in the field, including Dr. Martin Kaplan. Her advanced expertise includes the use of the renowned LightScalpel CO2 laser, which she employs in frenectomy procedures to improve breastfeeding in infants, feeding and airway issues in toddlers, and sleep problems in adults.
Dr. Kapoor further advanced her expertise with a surgical fellowship under Dr. Soroush Zaghi, a globally recognized ENT and sleep surgeon known for integrating medicine and dentistry in the field of airway health. She is also trained in early orthodontics under Dr. Marianna Evans, a leader in the field of orthodontics and airway-focused care.
As a Breathe Institute Affiliate, Dr. Kapoor works collaboratively with other professionals to improve airway health and provide comprehensive care for her patients. She also provides hospital-based dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia at Englewood Hospital for children who require specialized care.
